Amex Bonvoy Brilliant Card 50K Free Night Certificate Glitch

On Oct 2 , 2019 I received the notification that my Free Night Award was coming.

You’re close to receiving a Free Night Award from Marriott Bonvoy TM​
		Happy Card anniversary! We wanted to remind you that you will receive one annual Free Night Award from Marriott Bonvoy each year of Card Membership within 8-12 weeks after your Card Account anniversary date.​

I patiently waited the 8-12 weeks and finally called Amex today after 18 weeks.

The agent checked and found an "alert" that some cardholders were affected by a glitch and she had to put my card on the list of those affected to get it taken care of, and I should get the certificate in 3-5 days.

You may want to check your account in case you were also affected..

Did your free night cert show up in the 3-5 days they told you? Similar situation here: anniversary was in November, but no cert yet. Chatted with Amex last week and the rep said he didn’t know when it would be fixed, but I should just check again in a couple weeks. Would be nice to have before lots of hotels go up in categories next month…

I had the same thing happen. I called AmEx and after the 12 weeks they were able to add and it showed up a couple of hours later. The rep I spoke with said she had been with AmEx 20+ years and never had this issue with SPG, but it seems to be an issue with Marriott.

My anniversary was in December. Certificate showed up automatically about four weeks after that date with no issues.

Mine from October still hasn’t shown up, I need to call Amex again.

Actually I did receive it on Feb 7, the day after my first call. I didn’t notice it in the app but it was very visible on the website.
