Yuengling is still my favorite major branded beer. I prefer it over many microbrews when its available on tap. We drank a lot of Rolling Rock when in college.

I drank a lot of Yuengling, as well as oceans of Genesee. I like their Porter, which is more commonly available as a "Black and Tan"

D. G. Yuengling & Son, established in 1829, is the oldest operating brewing company in the United States. In 2018, by volume of sales, it was the largest craft brewery, sixth largest overall brewery and largest wholly American-owned brewery in the United States.

Aaaaannnnnddddd an investor bought Anchor

Craft beer pioneer Anchor Brewing Co., maker of its famous Anchor Steam and Christmas Ale beers, has been purchased by Chobani yogurt founder and billionaire Hamdi Ulukaya

Genny has a terrific summer brew...Ruby Red Kolsch. Genny has also offered a few wonderful porters over the years, but when it comes to a porter, my favorite is Founders.

We have high hopes for the return to solvency of Anchor Steam in San Francisco after it's acquisition by the founder of Chobani Yogurt.

We use to drink a lot of Rainier Beer. They started brewing in Seattle in 1878. Someone still brews this. Olympia Beer was another beer brewed in Washington but they are long gone. I kind of like Miller High Life or Coors Light these days.

My BIL only likes to drink Miller High Life. It was very hard to find during Covid; luckily they started producing it again!

The American Budweiser beer stole the name of the leading beer of the old Austro-Hungarian Empire which was named Budweiser, and is still brewed. It was named for the city where the brewery is located, Budweis in German, or Cesky Budovice in Czech. When the empire was broken up in 1918, the city of Budweis ended up in Czechloslovakia and is now in the Czech Republic and uses the Czech version of its name. I have enjoyed real Budweisers, brewed in the Czech Republic, often. It beats the American copycat hands down. The bottles of real Budweiser carry its name in borh German "Budweiser" and Czech "Budvar".

When it comes to beers that have been around a long time, another of my favorites has been Furstenberg, founded and still owned by the princes of Furstenberg. Its brewery in the Black Forest has been going since the 13th century, a century older than Lowmbrau. Before its bankruptcy and takeover, SwissAir used to have Furstenberg as one of its standard beers on both TATL and intra-Europe flights but unfortunately the new Swiss airline does not.
