My ticket was purchased last August for travel this Summer. It’s not currently eligible for any refunds. I canceled it. I called AA to get a receipt showing that I didn’t receive a refund but the agent said she didn’t have a way of doing that. So I used their online refund form to send a message stating that I just needed a receipt show $0 was refunded so that I could file a claim with my travel insurance. It’s only been a couple of days but loe and behold I received a full refund!

I also mentioned earlier that AA didn’t charge me the $525 to reinstate my FF miles. And that was for travel in the summer as well.

I have several tickets with AA and UAL that our outside their "covid 19" policy. AA refunded all fees and reinstated my miles easily. UAL I'm still dealing with.
