Amazon Prime Days started yesterday. I enjoy browsing some categories of items like tv's, stereo's, outdoor stuff and tools mostly. I was looking at cordless power tools and was needing a 7 1/4 inch circular saw and ended up with buying a corded Skill Saw for $39. I found some Nike socks for 70% off so I bought enough that I can toss all of the socks I have. I also bought tooth paste, shampoo and deodorant for the year. That was yesterdays buys. Today I'm not sure what I will buy but I'm certain I'm buying something.

I've checked out a number of things. Bought a couple small items. I'd caution that just because it's a "Prime Day Deal" doesn't mean it hasn't been and/or won't be cheaper. I'd check 3C's for price history before I pulled the trigger on a decent sized purchase.

Amazon is just too big for me to frequently spend time searching for deals. So I make use of an Amazon wish list. For items that we use regularly, or a specific item I'm interested in, there's a spot on the page for the item to add it to a Wish List.

It isn't perfect, but when items on our list go on sale, I often receive an email.

Today my wife's favorite shampoo was on sale as a Prime Day deal. 33% off. Got an email notification and took advantage of the sale.

I'm thinking of buying a TV to replace the fire box in the propane fireplace. It looks like a 43 incher will work. I loaded up the cart today but didn't buy yet and a couple items are back at the original price.

Amazon has many sketchy sellers. Wife bought a name brand lotion at a decent, not fantastic, discount. Reviews for this seller were good. Item was shipped by Amazon so it did have a good return policy. Arrived with the crimp of the lotion bottle literally cut off. What they cut off just happened to include the serial number and expiration date. If they are willing to hide that info for whatever reason then it is possible that they could be adding some other unknown product into the bottle. No thank you, return it is.

We ordered doTERRA Deep Blue Rub and got a tube that was in identical packaging, but smelled wrong and obviously wasn't as effective. I checked and others had posted reviews that the vender was selling a counterfeit version of the same product. Amazon refunded our money, but never stopped the vendor from selling a counterfeit.

The deals weren't that great, at least for what I was looking for. I did buy a basket for blankets/pillows that was $5 less than last week.

A lot of retail type product that is sold at discounted prices over retail is stolen merchandise. This happens a lot with fragrance and cosmetics. Amazon turns a blind eye.

It seems that Amazon discounts some of their own products pretty heavily. We picked up a couple of Echo products and smart bulbs. First time really using something like this. We've now allowed Amazon to spy on us

I posted another thread expressing my frustration that Facebook refuses to remove obvious scam ads. Every single one of my reporting of comically obvious scam ads, and there has been many, resulted in the same standard response from Facebook that they didn’t remove the ad because it didn’t go against their “advertising standards”. Like Amazon, Facebook’s ad revenue takes a priority over protecting consumers from fraud. Eventually, I suspect that federal or state agencies will put a stop to that practice.

I picked up a few more Ring cameras to monitor a few more areas outside my house. I think they were about 50% off, so I'm happy.

I bought four Ring cameras to replace and add onto a system. It was kind of odd in that I bought three and one because there wasn't a four pack. After I bought them I noticed there is a Ring camera with a four year battery pack which might have been better for what I'm doing.

Same. Got an outdoor cam for 1/2 off. Easy to install!

The only "prime special" i ended up purchasing was Best Buy gift card. They had a offer for $10 off on those. One of my older Arlo cameras stopped working well, and I used the card to buy a new one.

I purchased at $50 Applebees gift card for $39.50 and a $50 California Pizza Kitchen one for $40.

I always forget to look at gift cards and subscriptions.

I spent a bit too much and bought things I'm not sure I need. Like a shaved ice machine. I know I don't need it. But it just looks so refreshing. I think this Vegas heat is getting to me.

Yes be very careful if it's something important. I saw a dermatologist do an experiment where we proved that a sunscreen he bought on Amazon was a fake. (Fancy Korean sunscreen is all the rage these days but you can't buy it at any store in the USA, has to be bought online.) These scammers are selling counterfeits. He showed two counterfeits and compared to the real, one had packaging that was a VERY good copy of the real stuff. The other was easier to tell was fake. BOTH were not sunscreen at all, just lotion.

I bought four Ring cameras
Me too. My current set up is a different brand and is old, time for an update.

I bought a card game to play with the kiddos. Exploding Kittens. What an awful name for a card game. But it has great reviews. It was a great deal.

Shopping on Amazon is really tough for me. If I walk through a store, I can scan a lot of items in seconds and hone in on what I want to look at. Amazon takes too much time. Even if I narrow down a search, I have a tough time finding anything I really want.

That sounds like a lot of fun, imo.
