I am specifically interested in HGVC on the island of Hawaii. And it seems that these only (??) trade through RCI.

I have four 2016 weeks to deposit. Normally would just put them in II for Starwood preference for Maui/Kauai. But we want to get to the big island next year (and possibly different resorts on Maui that what's available through II).

Is the biggest thing I should worry about in RCI be TPUs for my 4 units? And how would I find out the TPUs for these units?

Thanks

I no longer "exchange" at all, but I must nonetheless note that in the "exchange game", space availability always rules (regardless of the individual exchange company) and I'd be inclined to bet that this is nowhere more true than in Hawaii (much like in coastal SW Florida in winter "Snowbird" months).

P.S. TPU's can easily be looked up online once you have a RCI membership, specifiying unit / week; valuation of course being impacted by advance "lead time".
Pre-RCI membership, others here on TUG are always willing to look up your TPU's (a.k.a. "Deposit Trading Power" in RCI-speak) for you, if you provide the info and ask.

The space bank for HGVC has already been done for next year. You could still catch a cancellation, but you want to get that request in right away.

If you ask someone here who has RCI weeks, they can look up your specific TPs. Since you can combine them (for a fee), I'm sure between the 4, you'll have enough for HGVC.

As Presley stated, you missed the bulk deposit for 2016.

I added mine to RCI last year because it was a prime fixed week and pulled 56 tpu for the deposit. I was able to pick up two Kingsland HGVC weeks on BI in May 2016, the tpu required were in the 26-30 range for shoulder season. Oahu and summer season were 42-50 tpu.

When I talked to the RCI rep to enroll the week he was able to tell me the tpu from the calculator before I agreed.

I have read that SFX also has access to HGVC, although I have no first hand experience with exchanging into HGVC through SFX. We received an exchange into Wyndham Kona Resort through SFX for our Maui Lea week, so perhaps they would have other options that could work for you.

A suggestion...

A new, separate thread asking this question in your subject line would better ensure that it is readily seen and more likley to receive a timely response.
Buried within this thread with a very different subject title, your inquiry will surely be less easily seen. Your call --- just sayin'.

SHERATON VISTANA LAKES

SHERATON MYRTLE BEACH

Because of the way RCI averages these numbers may not be exact but should give you a ball park figure. The Vistana Lakes should get around 26 each and the Broadway Plantation should give you around 19 each.

I agree that Hilton bulk deposits Hawaii early so you may have better luck for 2017.
