Does anyone own an the Grand Velas in either Playa Del Carmen or Puerto / Nuevo Vallarta? I was wondering how much maintainence fees and AI fees were for a week for owners. How much are AI fees / day for adults? What about children?

I have stayed at the Grand Velas Rivera Maya and loved it. It has been the nicest resort I have ever stayed. The AI fees through RCI were really high but worth it. I was wondering what they charge owners.

Also- I can't find any information on resale or purchasing. This is so surprising since most time shares won't leave you alone about buyer. I have read you need to get invited by an owner??

I am not interested at all in Velas Vallarta. I tried to email Grand Velas from the website and it got bounced back.

Any resale opportunites? I found a few on the web and email but no response.

I believe like many Mexican resorts, Grand Velas is RTU sold in 25 year increments. In addition, they strip a lot of the owner perks off of resale contract transfers and charge high transfer fees.

Your best bet would be to find an owner and rent using their contracted perks. I saw a flip key advertisement and the AI fees were listed as:
Guest pay "all inclusive fees": YOU WILL PAY THOSE WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE RESORT.

ADULDS: $104 per day per person

KIDS 5-16 $80 per day per person.

Note: this one is for the Grand Velas in Puerto Vallarta. I don't see any rentals from Riveria Maya. You may want to contact a puerto Vallarta owner and see if they can book Riveria Maya. Through RCI Purerto Vallarta is about $300 pp/pd Riverial Maya is about $400 pp/pd
