Anyone else remember when you had to wait until “It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown” came on TV just once a year? Then poor Charlie Brown always got a rock in his bag instead of candy? Anyway, that’s how I feel this morning, slightly tongue in cheek of course.
I’ve been reading so much about coronavirus deaths. And then the articles about additional deaths because people with heart attack symptoms didn’t go to the hospital. Others didn’t get cancer surgeries as scheduled. Etc, etc.
So all along I’ve been wondering about car accident deaths and if they had gone down much because people were sheltering in place. So I did a Google search this morning. And guess what the first article is that came up.? Not how great it was about people who didn’t die in accidents. Instead, how people needing transplants aren’t getting them because there’s no transplant organs to be had since people didn’t die in accidents. Plus those heart attack people who didn’t go to the hospital and instead died at home? They were a source of transplant organs as well.
Raising a toast to Charlie Brown and his bag full of rocks today.
