I can't find this information anywhere. When you cancel a flight with Alaska Airlines do they refund what you've paid for seat upgrades?

We are going to cancel our trip to Seattle in May and I think I can get the money spent for the flights out into the wallet, but would the funds for the upgraded seats be refunded?

That’s a good question. The regular refund goes back into your wallet funds for sure. I’ve cancelled four flights already. I’ve got a bunch of flights using Gold guest upgrades and those need a call in to cancel.

I would hope paid upgrades go back to the original form of payment. Alaska has been very good on the phone and is doing call backs rather than making you wait on hold forever.

I found something on flyer talk that makes it sound like if you cancel all funds, including those used to upgrade, go back into your Wallet. I'm waiting to see if maybe the flight will be cancelled. Then I can get a full refund.

My dd was supposed to go to Toronto for a workshop. Workshop got cancelled. She put in for a refund from United. She got refunded the money for the upgrade to Economy Plus and a credit for a future flight.
