For the past few months I have been looking to book airfare from JFK to Aruba for travel during June/July. Prices are among the highest I have ever seen. In the past we justified high prices to the high price of oil but gas prices have steadily decreased and continue to do so. What gives? I am completely baffled by this.
We travel the same weeks every year. Last year we averaged $425 per person, this year I am looking at fares anywhere between $600 and $700. It's outrageous. In some cases the return flight alone is more than I paid last year and the year before for RT.
