US Virgin Islands’ Governor Tightens Restrictions On Air Arrivals, Beaches and Bars


July 9, 2020

“U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — Governor Albert Bryan Jr. said during his COVID-19 update on Thursday that beginning Wednesday, July 15, residents of 10 states that are hotspots for the COVID-19 virus must present test results showing they have tested negative for it or quarantine upon their arrival into the Territory. [The 10 states are: Alabama; Arizona; Florida; Georgia; Idaho; Kansas; Mississippi; Nevada; South Carolina; and Texas.]

Governor Bryan also issued an order closing bars and prohibiting sitting or standing at bars in restaurants, and he ordered beaches to close at 4 p.m. on the weekends....”

I probably should have researched a bit more before booking. 4pm on weekends for beach closures ? Seems like it may not be worth it to go although, It’s only one Sunday to worry about. At least I don’t have to worry about a covid test as of now

New Prescreening Portal for Travelers to the US Virgin Islands

“The US Virgin Islands, which reopened for tourism last month and has updated some of its protocols for incoming visitors, has launched a new pre-screening portal for all travelers visiting the destination.

In other words, if you’re planning to visit the US Virgin Islands, the portal is the first step.

The goal of the new interface is to reduce the spread of COVID-19, according to the USVI Department of Tourism.

The new portal, which can be found here, “facilitates pre-arrival processing, thereby improving efficiency, reducing delays, and providing a more seamless traveler experience,” according to a statement....”
