We’ve been owners with MVC since 2001. I’m accustomed to the pre-arrival phone call about attending an owners update. They always say there’s “something new” or there have been changes that affect/enhance your ownership. They a.ways say we don’t expect you to buy. No problem, if I don’t want to attend, I say no and that’s usually the end of it. BTW, the offer was $225, 37,500 Bonvoy points or 400 DC points good for 2 years.

At this point t we just don’t want to go and I said no. I probably know more about the program than the majority of their sales staff. We’re chairman’s level and we own enough we have a little bit of trouble using everything we own. She persisted. I said no again. Then she asked, what does your wife th8nk about this? WTH? Really? I nearly hung up, buy to,d her she’s sitting g right next to me and she doesn’t want to go.

I had one other experience like this many years ago with an aggressive Hilton body snatcher. Hopefully this isn’t a trend.

I hope they offer 37,500 Bonvoy points or 400 DP points before I check in to Grand Chateau next week. I believe we have a do not invite on our account since we calculate how quickly we can get out of the presentation. With 2 weeks in Vegas I can spend 20 to 90 minutes entertained at a time of my choice. Looking for half a day in Maldives

I have only two criteria to weigh as to whether I accept an offer or decline, and they both must be met to accept.
They are the actual offer and the resort. I couldn't care less about the attitude of the caller, as it's not relevant,
and we'll never see that person anyway.
If the offer is attractive enough and will contribute to the enjoyment of the stay, or to another future stay (DC points to use later, etc)
and given that the offer is a resort we'd like to visit, then I might accept.

I've said YES and I've said NO, and the NO takes about 15 seconds and it's done in a nice way with a clear reason given by me
that can't be countered or rebutted.
Times and attitudes have definitely changed, and instead of getting calls from 100% congenial and courteous marketing reps,
it's only about 50-50 now..... But they in no way bother me in the least because I have the final say, and if NO, I have no problem
exercising my option....again done in a nice and non-demeaning way. We've had a few wonderful deals on enjoyable stays,
and I would hate to cut off the lifeline that feeds those offers.

We stayed at Ocean Pointe a month ago and that was the same offer they gave me a few days prior to arrival..I told the caller that offer was the lowest i had been offered and declined..another person called after we arrived with the same spiel and I declined again…50,000 BP or 600 DP Points and an early presentation and I may have changed my mind.

The paperwork that follows us around shows we bought all our Marriott and Westin timeshares on the resale market. I feel like the poor Country Mouse when we go to the "Welcome Desk" after checking in. Do we have a big "X" over our names? They aren't really interested in us attending a sales presentation, and the feeling is mutual, so it all works out fine.

I had a pushy prearrival call from Ocean Pointe too. I can’t remember her name, but she was insisting I schedule now and change later if my spouse didn’t agree. I firmly said no and we were not contacted at all during out stay.
