When I have flown from the US to Russia, it has been with Finnair connecting in Helsinki or KLM connecting in Amsterdam. Both were great. But I agree about Aeroflot. I would spend a little more and take a better airline.
Old thread revisited. I'm looking at a Rossiya Airlines flight, which is part of Aeroflot, from St Pete to Düsseldorf. They have a good safety record (http://www.airlineratings.com/ratings/110/rossiya). I'm curious if anyone here has flown them recently. The safety record seems fine but the in flight experience leaves a lot to be desired...unfortunately, it's either this nonstop flight or one that is much longer and at poor times. Considering options.
