Hello! Over the last few years, life has been busy and I have not kept up with current events/updates related to MVCI, so I apologize in advance for asking this question.

Long story short, I had a stay booked for July 2022, however, I had to cancel it (less than 60 days out) due to a medical issue. As a result, I have 2,250 points (that must be used by YE) in a holding account. I am considering renting them since I am not sure I will be able to use them. Should I decide to rent them: (1) what is the best platform to do so?; (2) what is the going rate?; (3) what are some tips/best practices to ensure that I complete the transaction correctly?

Thanks in advance!

As @TXTortoise has said, go to. www.VacationPointExchange.com

Currently, most point rentals are in the 65 cent to 68 cent point range, however with inflation pushing 9% my guess is that 2022 will be the last time that we see these prices below 70 cents.

Be careful with whomever you deal with. VPE shows a published list of email addresses you should avoid dealing with. Make sure you feel comfortable with whomever you are dealing with; for example if you want 5,000 points consider buying 500 points first to see how it goes, then do the remaining 4,500 points. Always keep in mind that nothing is fool proof so do be cautious....

Best of luck!

Keep in mind, Holding Account points cannot be transferred. So you will have to make a ressy for the renter, and add their name to the ressy. Also, since holding account points are only good 60 days or closer to check in, I would price them below market rates to reflect that restriction.

I have been renting holding points at 0.50$, they are very restricted and very hard to find availability within 60 days, restricted points can not be transferred to another owner so you would need to make the reservation for the person and put it in their name.

I had never seen this website.
I'm assuming anyone can rent? Or do you need to be a D P Owner?

You need to be a DC member to rent points.

Although some sellers will make a reservation using points and put it in your name -- just like renting a unit.

Thank you all for the replies. I knew there was a website, but couldn't remember the name of it. I really appreciate the advice. Thanks again!
