Does anyone know the address and fax number that I would use to cancel a purchase of a Starwood timeshare? I did not get my paperwork yet as it was supposed to be express mailed to me on Friday but so far I do not have it.

My home resort is the Vistana Key West but I don't know if that makes a difference. I made the purchase at the Westin Mission Hills.

If you haven't yet signed a contract, then you don't have anything to cancel, which would be good news for you. If you did sign paperwork at WMH, did they give you copies of everything? Please provide more information about when and how you bought.

I did already sign the paperwork but don't have copies yet. However, I do have the Public Report, which looks to be a California form. It gives some information on cancellation rights.

Scott I would call WMH and get a fax number for the sales department. Then I woud call the salesperson I bought it from and rescind, following that up wih a fax to him/her. I would state my desire to cancel, the unit I bought and the date I bought it. Request a full refund of any money given. I would also state I would put a stop pyment on any check or credit card given.

A fax might not be sufficient. Be sure to follow - exactly - the instructions in the public offering document. It might require you to send cancellation by mail. If so, be sure to send the cancellation certified and get a return receipt as proof of your cancellation.

I can't believe they didn't give you a copy of your contract. That doesn't sound right.

FWIW, my Harborside contract states that you have 7 days from the date you sign the contract, or the date you receive the public offering statement, whichever is later. It says if you decide to cancel this agreement, you must notify declarant in writing of your intent to cancel. Your notice of cancellation shall be effective on the date sent and shall be sent to: [Harborside at Atlantis Development Limited at ] C/O Starwood Vacation Ownership Inc., 9002 San Marco Court, Orlando, Florida, 32819, Attention: Document Administration Department.

Good luck!
