I have a 2BR unit (prime season)at Vistana Resort now. Have been looking at the listings on EBay and other sites and there are sever EOY units at Vistana at very reasonable prices. If I purchased an EOY 2 BR unit for the purpose of exchanging would it combined with my other unit be enough to get a reasonable exchange into Lagunamar or WKORV. Do I have to pick up an extra unit to get that kind of exchange or is what I have already enough?

I don't believe you can take two units and exchange into one, so there is no increase in your exchange power by owning two units.

That said, I own an EOY unit and am able to split it; this allows me to get a vacation using the TS every year.

Unfortunately, from what others have posted here, Orlando is overbuilt and doesn't necessairly exchange all that well even for a "Red" week. Higher-end resorts (and DVC) still ecchange well; not sure if Vistana falls into the "higher-end" level.

What other options if any do I have because if I can't combine two Vistana weeks to get one Lagunamar or WKORV week then banking a week from one year to put with the following years week isn't an option either.

I would guess flexibility is an option. Lets say your week is #52 and you're willing to take something during the dog days of summer, or mid-May when a lot of people can't go because their kids are in school....then you might be able to get the exchange you really want. The other option is to put your request in far enough in advance (like right about now for a mid-May/early-June week), yes you will have to pay an exchange fee now but perhaps in a few weeks you'll have an exchange at the resort you desire.

Even with a week that isn't as "desirable" the key is to get your request in early. I can only speak to II as I don't belong to RCI, but my understanding is that any pending request has higher priority over someone logging onto II's site to see what kind of exchanges are available (after taking into account the exchange power of what you have).
