I have several questions regarding 2 situations about adding names to a deeded timeshare.

1. My sister has asked me to help her with paperwork to add one of her kids to her timeshare, which she usually exchanges via Interval. She wants to hadd them to her Interval account too. Is that possible? Wouldn't she have to add their name to the deed of the resort first? And is that allowed? My sister's husband passed away a few years ago. While she still uses the timeshare, she is getting older and is trying to get her estate planning done. She has talked to her kids to see who was interested in it and I guess she has made a determination. I'm just not sure what the steps are to handle this.

2. I am in a similar situation, but am much younger that my sister. I do not have kids, so was going to check with my nieces to see if anyone wants my timeshare once I am no longer around. I would need to have them added to the deed as well. But if no one is interested in it, how would it be handled so that my estate could be settled and not get hung up in probate?

If anyone has gone thru something similar and can provide some info, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!
Terri

The easiest way to do this, and to assure that it is done legally, is to use a professional title transfer company.

This is who I use - they are Tuggers, they get high marks on TUG, and they are efficient and inexpensive - usually less than $300.

I can also endorse LT Transfers. They’ve handled multiple transfers and additions to ownerships for my family, efficiently and at reasonable cost.

I’m sorry I can’t help with the question of what you need to do if none of your nieces want your timeshare.

As DeniseM and TheHolleys87 have mentioned LT Transfers is great to work with. At the moment, they are helping us to add my niece and her husband to one of our deeds. Their charge is $368 (we provided a copy of the deed, but they will get one, if you can't send them a copy). The transfer fee charged by the timeshare company is separate and is an additional $25.00 for us. The process has proceeded very smoothly, and LT Transfers will be sending our new Deed to be recorded next week. Once the new recorded Deed is returned to LT Transfers, they will send it, and the transfer form along with the transfer fee to our timeshare company.
