Acapulco - Bad Experience

Just checked in at El Presidente in Acapulco on Saturday. The hotel is not worthy of being on the RCI system and I would strongly advice anyone against thinking of staying here.

I found a really cheap deal on Skyauction and am not even getting what I paid for! The room smells, due to the old Air conditioning, I'm told. Although I was told there would be something available on Monday for us to transfer to, the usual 'manyana' attitude pervade the whole reservation staff. And conveniently, whenever I ask a question that they don't want to answer, they plead ignorance to the english language! :mad: I better learn some good spanish! :p

Other than the location, right on the beach, there is nothing else going on in this property. I'm staying away from this one in the future. And not bidding on Skyauction just by looking at the picture in the ad!

I think we should start a 'don't bother to go' list on the TUG so members can forewarn other members about deadbeat properties like this one!

I checked tripadvisor and the reviews are the worse I have seen about a resort all 1 star for overall rating. People who go through the Mayan Palace timeshare presentation give better reviews.

Have you looked to change hotels? I'm sorry it's so bad. I don't remember if you asked before you went; I knew from my travels to Acapulco that this is a dog!

Sux when you get so excited and then get let down. Be sure to post a review on the tug resort reviews pages that way we can warn all of us tuggers about this hotel.

Good idea, but only members can access the reviews. Digit, if you are a TUG member and want to change the notation under your name from 'guest' to 'member', see this post for instructions on how to do it. :)

They have since tried to offer a different room, without a view and right on the main street; obviously we have declined.

I have met a few other couples who have had the same bad experience with the rooms.
