So when did this new $250 dollar fee start? I'm getting very tired of Marriott policy's. As a week's owner there are doing their best to make it difficult to reserve my unit.

The fee started in 2010. When did you enroll your week? Do you own Marriott or Vistana?

And the Abound Club Dues vary based on Ownership.
Our invoice is $344.13 for 2025.

When you enrolled to the destination points program they began charging 250.00 annually.
That fee includes Marriott paying for your Interval Membership as well as any fees that were normally charged to lock off, deposit etc..those are now free.

I was in the points program and then I sold out. So it must have been in that yearly bill. I'm getting tired of them changing the rules. I own Summit Watch but have to wait to reserve it. So all the points people have booked three or four days blocking my week. So I'm screwed. My contract had a buy back clause in it but I'm sure Marriott will not honer it.

I know that MVC does demand forecasting and can move inventory around based on those forecasts, but supposedly they do a decent job of it so the following still applies as general theory:

Points inventory and weeks inventory is separate. For points bookings, either the trust has to own that inventory (which wouldn't be available for you to book as a weeks owner anyway) or a weeks owner would have to elect for points, thus removing a week from regular inventory and putting it into the Abound exchange. If another owner used their weeks ownership to book at the resort, that's one less week available to you. If they instead elect Abound points, a week gets taken out of inventory and put into the Abound exchange pool, so no net difference as it's still one less week available to you due to another owner's usage. Much the same as if they booked that week and then deposited it into II.

Well we will see, last year a midnight I was making a reservation for this year and I could not get much. I had to split my two bedroom and check in on different dates. I purchased a premium week for skiing and paid a premium price. This should not be difficult

If you have a fixed week there should be even less problem having that specific week available for you. The only limiter would be if they have different check-in days (Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun) and you want a specific check-in day that other owners have already reserved, although if significant numbers are locking off and reserving different check-in dates that could complicate it some.

You shouldn’t have to be a lawyer and a CPA to own a time share, period. It’s absurd what is done by corporations to turn what should be a pleasant experience into a nightmare, thus driving clients away from their golden egg. EFF every one of them.

As noted, the inventory is separate (sort of). Ponts owners can only book time that is in the trust plus time that enrolled weeks owners have elected for points. I think the top ski weeks at Summit Watch are going to be difficult to book. For those weeks many owners have put themselves in a position to book 13 months out (or more) instead of 12. It sounds like your issue is more competition with your fellow weeks owners rather than points reservation. That said, MVC opens up the entire season to points owners who can book at 13 months out up to the volume of time allowed by weeks owned by the trust plus weeks elected for points. So points will still have some potential impact on availability for the highest demand weeks for those reserving at 12 months.

Grande Ocean Platinum, 3 x Grand Chateau 3 Bedroom (annual, EOY Odd, EOY Even).,
2026 will be the first time I will be exchanging my enrolled 3 br Grand Chateau week for points . I have one enrolled and one that can't be enrolled. I normally get 4 weeks at the MGO in the summer using the two 3 bedrooms. This year (2024) was the first time I was unable to get 2 consecutive weeks within the 4 weeks of trade. History might be repeating itself in 2025. I am normally locked and loaded by New Years but though not yet, I am still hopeful for 2025.

For 2026 I will be getting 4625 points for my week. I already rented 2026 points and will use 725 of them to add to my 4625 to get 2 consecutive weeks at the Monarch using points. I am 100% confident I will be able to do this. I once owned at the Monarch and enjoy the property. This preserves my 4 weeks. Also being an MGO owner, I can still use the facilities on the property.

I am confident I could have could have used my MGC points to get consecutive weeks with one of my 2026 future traded for MGO weeks using II, but that would have given my only 3 weeks in HHI. Side note, I rented 2026 points for 72 cents a point. If I used rented points, it would cost me a little over $3300. Trust Point owners would be paying over 3700. OUCH.

Sounds good other than I'd note that day use at MGO is subject to availability and often not available during the busier times like Mid June and July. It sounds like you were not locking off the 3 BR at GC. I doubt the 2 BR vs 3 BR would have had much effect on getting the exchanges.

Normally I do lock off the 3 bedroom getting 2 summer GO's and 4 summer GO's with the two 3 bedrooms. With the recent challenge (2024 and so far 2025) of not getting at least two of the 4 weeks consecutive either through the trade or retrade, in 2026 I am exchanging the enrolled 3 bedroom for points, adding 750 additional rental points and looking to get 2 consecutive weeks at the Monarch for the 5350 points (4625 from the enrolled week and adding 750 rented points) instead. So while not locking it off, it is kind of getting me one 3 bedroom for 2 units. The truth is while I really enjoy the Monarch the units are smaller and if my wife and I are alone, with a friend or my son/wife, it is workable.

I have stayed at the Marriott Resort on HHI (no longer a Marriott) and the Courtyard adding to or extending HHI stays in the summer and I have never been turned away. I am not sure if everyone is aware but you can get an owners ID chart and when you show it, and there is no real discussion. If you don't get an ID card, they check to ensure you are an owner and wondering if owners could get turned away during the checking. It could also be you are correct and I have not done it enough to have bad timing.

I routinely have trade requests in for MGO but I'm looking at only one week, 4th of July. I too have seen less action and later matches for those exchange requests. For day use, as I understand it, the requirement is to check in at the front desk to get permission for each day. In doing so they often are at capacity and turn people away during the busier weeks, especially weekends.

Actually the calendar for weeks reservation opens at 9am EST exactly12 months before the first available day of the week you want to reserve.
So if you have an exact check in day in mind then you probably need to be online and ready to make reservation right before 9am EST.
