Hi there,

2 questions for those who have done this before...

1) How long does it take for the conversion/election for club points take once I've clicked through on the website?
(Hours, minutes, days?)
2) When does Marriott open up their booking window? Is it at 12AM EST, like Vistana? So to book for a day 13 months out (4/12/2024), the site reports that it will open up on 3/14/2023.... is that really 3/14/2023@12AM EST (e.g. 9pm 3/13/2023 PDT?)

Thanks

Elected points should show up immediately and be available for use right away. 12 month inventory can usually be searched at 12am Eastern Time. Sometimes the inventory is loaded earlier and sometimes it is later. 13 month inventory usually isn't available earlier, but you can search for it online starting at 12 midnight on release day.

But to be clear, "midnight on release day" is eastern time?

I believe the booking window officially opens up at 9am ET.

Some have reported seeing availability at some resorts on occasion at midnight (ET), but it seems inconsistent and possibly more of an IT glitch than a anything else. It might be there at midnight, but won't be there at 7am, and will show up at 9am ET.

Yes, eastern time. If booking 13 months, best to look at midnight and if you don't get a reservation, check back at 9am and then throughout the day and even the week as people do cancel.

For 12 month reservations. Start looking the day prior to release and then again at midnight, again at 9am and then throughout the day and week.

All times of course are eastern.

Weeks inventory is different, it always seems to be a hard release at 9am eastern on release day.

Ah, now the site says this: "
All reservation may be made beginning at 9 a.m. Eastern Time on the date indicated as the "First Day to Reserve"

It was probably there the whole time but I didn't read it carefully.

The timeframe for the conversion/election of Club Points can vary, depending on several factors. In some cases, the conversion can be processed within minutes or hours. However, in other cases, it may take a few days for the conversion to be completed. It's best to check with Marriott or your sales representative for more specific information about the timing of your conversion.

The booking window for Marriott Vacation Club reservations typically opens at midnight Eastern Standard Time (EST). So, if you are looking to book a reservation 13 months out for April 12, 2024, the booking window should open on March 14, 2023, at 12:00 AM EST.

I think that poster at post #11 is either a Vistana sales rep who does not actually know how MVC works, or simply someone pretending to know the answer. ;)
I was wondering myself. They had a flurry of posts all around the same time on basically the same topic. All five of their posts were all on the same day. They almost seemed to have a ChatGPT vibe to the responses. Their profile is no longer available in the BBS...

Yep... all the posts were vague, and that we should contact sales or customer service for the accurate information.

I almost replied to that person to ask if those responses had come from ChatGPT. I also felt they had that "vibe."

He or she (or it!) posted about five responses to various posts here in very quick succession.

Saruman, also called Saruman the White, is the Head of the White Council and Lord of Isengard.

He betrayed the White Council and his people and began serving Sauron. As Sauron's two-faced vassal, Saruman pledged Isengard's nominal fealty to Mordor and assailed the Kingdom of Rohan in the War of the Ring, in which he was defeated.

But… I thought everyone knew this?

My recent experience with Marriott bookings seemed to tell me that the Marriott booking window keys off the final day of your stay, whereas the Vistana booking windows key off the first night of your stay. Am I wrong here?

No, that isn't how it works. Marriott does though have different inventory release. Where Vistana is a flat 365 days ahead, Marriott has fixed days of the week and will not always be exactly one year prior.
