Years ago, a family I grew up with went snorkeling in the Na Pali sea caves. They did so often but on their last trip the tide came in and they all drowned with the exception of the oldest son.

I have had my own problems with sneaky wave. Its too bad the reporter lost her footing. Regarding the rivers they used to say if the waters brown, don't go down.

This is the mouth of the Lumahai River. There's always been heavy surf on this end of the beach every time we've visited, which is always in August. I would presume that this time of year it's even worse.
