Hi.

I'm a MVCI owner (Cypress Gardens), but we usually trade for HHI. Anyway, I'm interested in taking my family (which is going to increase in size by 25% later this week or next (due to the birth of my son!!!)) to Ford's Colony for a weekend in October. I don't have Marriott any Marriott points (not sure if those would work in any event) and II has weeklong getaways, but I just want a Friday/Saturday night stay. Is there an economical way for me to do this?

I have an AC that I'm not going to use and it pulls a couple of studios in October.

PM me if you are interested.

Just go to Marriott.com and rent it on a daily basis. There's availability throughout October.

Also, getaways can be used for as many or few days as you want.

If you use Marriott.com, put in MOD (Marriott Owner's Discount) for a reduced rate for owners.

You may find that an II getaway is cheaper than renting two days direct from Marriott.
AND, Maybe someone else you know would want the extra 5 days?

If it's important you might want to check with Manor Club when they close the outdoor pools ... it's usually mid October.

It's a pretty busy month at Manor Club (best golf month of the year).

You can't get a 1 or 2BR, but they do have studios for $214 for the week. That's a great/awesome deal if that's all you need. $31/night can't be beat.

I agree that it's a great deal if we were to stay a week, but we only want to stay for 2 nights. It's still very reasonable even for 2 nights, but we'd need multiple bedrooms for the kids.

I'm seeing the following using MOD and/or regular published rates:

October 3-5: $119 studio, $145 1BR, $233 2BR
October 10-12: $139/179/233
October 17-19: $139/169/233
October 24-26: $139/182/217

You can do the math any way you'd like, but it looks like you will pay about the same for a 2BR for two nights or 2 studios for a week using getaways. No kitchen with the two studios, and they don't adjoin.

Also, look on the rentals section on the BBS. There are always lots of very inexpensive Williamsburg rentals.

Thanks, Matt. My brother and I are going 10-10 for golf. Just what I wanted to hear! P.S.---last time there was early March (snowed 2 days) and we used the indoor pool. It was fine---place was not full at all. Also played golf then--a little brown in spots but weather not bad at all.

We went last Oct and it was fantastic! Got HallowScream at Busch Gardens and golf in very nice temps. We enjoyed it immensely.
