We usually refuse to go to owners updates and unplug our phone anymore. But this week in Nashville my wife plugged in and called down about the timing of the Sunday evening welcome event (which BTW was a really nice trip over to Texas Trubador theatre to hear a few numbers played by a well seasoned country band and the Elvis impersonator who does a fantastic show).
So while plugged in for that one call, they hooked her on a visit to our room. We've had these before and they always try to come up with some reason we have to come on down to the sales office. This time the only 'issue' we had was that we no longer can get cancel / rebook discounts. The lie that followed from the Wyndham agent was if we come down to the office and grant them permission to lookup our ownership records, they will see to it that we get the Points added to our account that we would have gotten if we had been able to cancel rebook !! Every VIP owner is still entitled to discounts he said.
I am almost certain this is complete BS and would have evaporated after a prolonged conversation and sales offers. Am I right? We did not take him up on this offer.
