This is on our bucket list - I hope things improve enough to safely take this kind of trip.
Dd and I were supposed to take a river cruise on the Rhine in May 2021. We moved it to May 2022. It will be interesting to see what is in place by then.

Market-speak in any language makes me shudder.

I've heard these river cruises can be great. I'd rather take the train in Europe and stay in a city and explore on my own but it's hard to go wrong either way. I studied in Germany and took a local little ferry (think 2-15 people, like a small bus) every day to cross the Rhine, and it was always fun to see how the ferry maneuvered around all the barges (and occasional riverboat) just to get to the other side. When I visited last year I saw that the same ferry was still there doing its job.
