Hi - as a Newbie, I'm still trying to navigate my way through the system.
We own Platinum week at Canyon Villa which I locked-off and deposited with II. We know have 2 ACs which expire in June. I'm looking to go somewhere WARM between Feb 27 and March 20. If I search the grid, there are no Florida properties. Does 59 day flex-change apply to ACs as well? We also have 2 weeks banked, 1 BR and 2 Br although I'd prefer to take my chances with AC. We could do Hilton Head and/or Myrtle Beach which do show availability.
Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks

Actually, that's when you see the best properties with an AC (during Flexchange). You should start looking now for the first week of your time frame and keep on extending it as you continue to search as more weeks fall into the 59 day period.

I agree. Just make sure that when you search, you limit your search to a period that is 59 days or less. If you include the 60th and/or more days, you likely won't see some great Flexchange weeks. Also, when searching, consider getting up very early (EST) to search before others are up to grab weeks that II might make available during the night.

The grid will disappear when searching only 59 days out.
Also, most of my trades have come in around 2-3am.

need a little clarification pleeease

I'm a little confused reading this thread, based on this Flexchange info/suggestions:

..... continue to search as more weeks fall into the 59 day period

....you limit your search to a period that is 59 days or less. If you include the 60th and/or more days, you likely won't see some great Flexchange weeks....

The grid will disappear when searching only 59 days out....

I thought I understood it until the last one mentioned disappearing at "only" 59 days out. To me that implies it should be more than 59. I think I'm experience a brain lock-up, and need some WD-40 please :D .
(In addition, maybe I don't understand the term "grid" )
Thx

Tom, if you do a search for "all available" loactions and out to the expiration date of your AC on II's website, an extra page will pop up showing you a grid of available loctaions and dates.

If you do the same search for dates starting today and ending 59 days from today, there will be no grid.

thx

Great info, Terry.

Since I am still waiting to be put in MVCI for my first TS that I closed 2 weeks ago, that type of information and picture is very useful. Thanks

I would even go so far as saying that if you didn't manage to get a week you want a year in advance, you have the most chance of getting it during the flexchange period. For example, I really wanted Thanksgiving week in Newport Coast Villas and I didn't do a trade a year in advance as I should have. As soon as Thanksgiving week fell within 59 days, I started searching many times per day until I found the week available 20 days out. It almost seems as if you have to search 1 year in advance or within 59 days in advance.
