$99 Owner Protection worth it?

We have an upcoming stay at WKORVN and prior week on BI with HGVC. Will this cover the entire trip? Is it worth it? Chances of lockdown are low but people could fail tests....Says it covers the entire party (we have 5 traveling).

The Vistana Travelex insurance is $199 and it would not cover HGVC. @CalGalTraveler you need to give us a little more info if you want advice.

I was told by the Vistana CSR that it was $99 and a new product that was launched in 2020 to respond to COVID. He couldn't send me details until I purchased the travel policy but he said it would cover our entire party for the entire trip up to double the amount of our maint fees.

This is the only policy I'm aware of that Vistana sells. It is $199 or 20,000 StarOptions. You can see it will cover Vistana but not HGVC.

I never buy things without knowing what they are. If they can't send the details thats an easy no.

Vistana did a hard sell for me to use staroptions for travel insurance. They said it was essential. I asked if I had to cancel my trip within 60 days if they wouldn’t restrict my options with the insurance and they said no. I didn’t think they would but passed on the offer!

What that suggests to me is that they are incentivizing the owner services reps to sell the travel insurance. They probably get $20 (or something) for every one they sell. So they’re motivated to strong arm people into buying.
