yes, my non-dividend tech stocks were in mutual funds e.g. Schwab 1000, Vanguard 500

I'm with you on D. I've also owned for the past forty years or so and automatically reinvested the dividends to now owning almost 5,000 shares. Problem was the automatic reinvest almost always bought more shares at highs. Luckily kept going up so at least I got more shares instead of blowing the money. I just stopped reinvesting because it has become too much of my total portfolio. I've also started giving our kids $15,000 a year each so the extra cash comes in handy.

Title implies Dividend Stocks, but article is about high dividend stocks, and mostly funds.

High dividend stocks are not what general div investors go for. Many of these high div stocks are yielding high because their price is down.

Weird that it's supposed to be about dividends but results are about return. Divs are part of return but tucked into a portfolio of div stocks and then discussing NAV improvement just muddies the water beyond use.

I'm with the previous posters - utilities, such as D, are long haul div heavy weights. One doesn't need to resort to high yield/high risk to meet their goals.
