If it’s accurate that is the highest daily total for any country.

USA now has more cases then all of Europe (including Russia).

More KNOWN cases. If there are no tests, there are no verified cases. Russia, Brazil, Mexico, India, Saudi Arabia don't test.
Where is the United States Coronavirus Task Force? Where are Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx?

It is winter in the southern hemisphere. The cases in Brazil should be increasing.

Dr Fauci is still trying to get this disease taken seriously. The 'Task Force' has disappeared while hospital beds fill and medical workers fall from sickness and exhaustion.

Stay safe folks. This is far from over.

Bad news all around but does show with a little effort and suffering countries can limit the cases. Spain, Italy, France, U.K. were the hot spots and now they are not.
How can this be good news.

That theory about the virus 'laying down' in warm climate was debunked early on. It was purely wishful thinking by officials with a big microphone and no knowledge. Brazil is pretty equatorial and experiences little seasonal climate change except it's extreme South.

In line with Passepartout, at the very beginning of the outbreak, Iran was reporting some of the highest number of cases. I realize that there are mountains in northern Iran, but that was not where the cases were located. Last time I checked, Iran is not a cool climate. So, the idea that things would subside when we got into warmer weather always struck me as wishful thinking.

FWIW...Perhaps it might be helpful to compare the EU (France, Germ, Italy etc. combined) since France is about the size of California. USA still ahead but the gap not so great.

No matter how you slice it though, this is a bad trajectory.

My guess is Europe is more then double the population. But has the benefit of being able to close their borders.

And... they lockdown again when the numbers go up. You know, using science and logic to combat a pandemic, not wishful thinking.

Brazil just wanted to get over the 1 million mark. They are solidly behind the US now. Check this out https://public.flourish.studio/visu...GDkmO8IPHmfc3JXBZRXedbS-rQAVCUQSZ6Js5F0txhdn4

Another fact to keep in mind is that Brazil has a population, based on 2018 figures, of 209.5 million while the U.S. has a population of 327.2 million. Should it be that the virus takes a much greater toll on African-Americans in relation to deaths, their total will far surpass the U.S.

"Preliminary results from the 2010 census, released on Wednesday, show that 97 million Brazilians, or 50.7% of the population, now define themselves as black or mixed race, compared with 91 million or 47.7% who label themselves white."

"NPR's analysis finds that in 32 states plus Washington D.C., blacks are dying at rates higher than their proportion of the population. In 21 states, it's substantially higher, more than 50% above what would be expected. For example, in Wisconsin, at least 141 African Americans have died, representing 27% of all deaths in a state where just 6% of the state's population is black."

Brazil is set for a much greater impact than the U.S.

For the state of Wisconsin home of the NFL Green Bay Packers that is a very sad number of deaths of African Americans; 27% of all deaths in a state where just 6% of the state's population is African Americans (Black). IMHO.

The South does not look good when you are looking at the whole United States, state by state. IMO

Florida and Texas are not looking that bad at the time when this data was released.. IMHO
