Today I got this email from Pacific Whale Foundation (PWF) announcing 50% off weekend tours. If you are a member, or thinking about becoming one, this is a great deal.

(Note: PWF is an active enviro-political group. As with most political organizations, they are not without controversy. For instance, they were/are vocally opposed to the SuperFerry. So they are not everyone's cup of tea and I wouldn't recommend you join them unless you believe in their cause.)

In any event, here's their email to me:

50% Off Weekend Eco-Adventure Special
For Pacific Whale Foundation Members Through December 15

The price of an ocean adventure just got cheaper -- by half -- thanks to a 50% off weekend special offered by Pacific Whale Foundation Eco-Adventures during the months of September through mid-December.

The special is available to all current Pacific Whale Foundation members. It is offered on Pacific Whale Foundation's snorkel tours to Molokini and Lanai, along with our Wild Dolphin Encounters, plus our Sunset Dinner and Cocktail Cruises.

The cruises must be taken on either Saturdays or Sundays to qualify for the 50% discount. Advance reservations are required and must be made by calling Pacific Whale Foundation directly at (808) 249-8811 ext. 1 or 1-800-942-5311 ext. 1.

Certain conditions and restrictions apply. Payment must be made at the time of booking. No changes are allowed after booking and the ticket is non-refundable. The special does not apply to whalewatches or special holiday cruises. It may not be combined with other discounts or offers.

An Array of Cruise Choices...All at 50% Off!
"We are very committed to keeping our prices as low as possible to be within the reach of all members who want to get out there to experience the beauty of the ocean," says Diana Bergantino, Cruises Director at Pacific Whale Foundation Eco-Adventures. "All of our tours are led by an enthusiastic, knowledgeable team of certified marine naturalists who enjoy teaching our guests about the marine environment."

The discounted tours include:

Molokini & Turtle Arches Snorkel Eco-Adventure
Snorkel at world-famous Molokini Marine Preserve, then at Turtle Arches, where green sea turtles swim among corals and underwater lava rock arches. A tropical style continental breakfast, barbeque lunch, ice-cold refreshments and all snorkel gear (including optical masks for eyeglass wearers and flotation devices) are included. There's a water slide for the kids, too! Departs mornings from Maalaea Harbor.

Lanai Wild Dolphin & Snorkel Eco-Adventure
Find out why snorkelers and divers rave about the reefs off our neighbor island of Lanai on this relaxing snorkel trip. In addition to snorkeling a beautiful Lanai reef, you'll also cruise Lanai's scenic shoreline, home to wild spinner, bottlenose and spotted dolphins. Includes a tropical style continental breakfast, barbeque lunch, ice-cold refreshments and all snorkel gear (including optical masks for eyeglass wearers and flotation devices). And yes, there's a water slide on this cruise as well. Departs mornings from Lahaina Harbor.

Molokini & Lanai Snorkel & Wild Dolphin Encounter
Can't decide between a snorkel trip to Molokini or a snorkel trip to Lanai? Now you can snorkel both, during one adventure-packed cruise! And you'll also visit those areas where wild dolphins are found. Kids love zipping into the ocean on the onboard water slide. Includes a tropical style continental breakfast, barbeque lunch, ice-cold refreshments and all snorkel gear (including optical masks for eyeglass wearers and flotation devices). Departs mornings from Maalaea Harbor.

Lanai Wild Dolphin Encounter
If you want to focus on dolphins and forego the snorkeling, this 3-hour cruise is for you! Dolphin sightings are guaranteed, or you go again free. Includes refreshments. Departs mornings from Lahaina Harbor.

Sunset Cocktail Cruise
You'll forget words like "job", "lawn-mowing" and "laundry" on this ultra-relaxing two hour cruise along the West Maui coast. Chill and enjoy the live island-style music, the array of hot and cold appetizers (including meatballs, chicken and more!) and the included beer, wine and Mai Tais. Don't forget your camera because the evening light off the West Maui Mountains and the sunset over the Pacific are too beautiful to remember with just your eyes. Departs early evenings from Lahaina Harbor.

Sunset Dinner Cruise
Another great way to relax, this Sunset Dinner Cruise features many local products, including Maui Cattle Company's all-natural, grass-fed steak, Haleakala Distiller's award-winning rum and more! The menu also includes grilled herbed chicken, a tasty vegetarian entrée (a tofu-vegetable stir-fry with zesty black bean sauce), caesar salad, roasted potatoes, spinach-artichoke dip with hand-rolled homemade bread sticks and two desserts. There's live entertainment on this cruise as well, and the price includes tropical well drinks and Mai Tais, beer and wine, plus juices and sodas. Departs evenings from Lahaina Harbors.

In addition, kids ages 6 and under go free on the snorkel tours to Molokini and Lanai, and the Wild Dolphin Encounter, provided that there is one free child per each paying adult. On all the cruises, there are special rates for children ages 12 and under.

To learn more about these cruises and to reserve your weekend 50% off seats, please call Pacific Whale Foundation at (808) 249-8811 ext. 1. From the U.S. Mainland or neighbor islands, please call 1-800-942-5311.
