5 Ways Kindle Fire Beats the iPad - by Sebastian Anthony/Extreme Tech.com

There are lots of iPad verses Fire comparisons out there, but ExtremeTech's Sebastian Anthony takes a more nuanced approach than most. Sure you can focus on the size and performance differences, but this is really a choice between architectures. Consumers are choosing what company will be shaping their digital lives. And he thinks Amazon may have an edge over Apple there.

Be sure to read the comments section to his article - excellent dissenting opinions.

It won't be too long before we learn how this will play out.

This is sort of like VHS vs Beta back in the VCR wars. Of course, there was also the movie disk player, which was sort of like a large LP (record for the younger bunch) that played movies.

One way the Apple iPad beats the Kindle Fire .... the iPad is available now.

:)

kindlefire

My bro is always with Apple that is to say he always goes for iPhone iPad iEtc but I think Kindle Fire is very cheap.

Kindle Fire has an excellent price point. I haven't seen any reviews yet, so I can't speak to the display. This is the one area that the original e-ink Kindle beats out the iPad in. If the Kindle Fire is as readable in a full sun situation, It'll probably sell like hotcakes. When it comes to apps, I really think Apple has that market cornered.

I am writing this from my iPAD2. I have never had an iPAD until about two weeks ago. It is very convenient and I am still in the process of learning how to use the device. I do not use my telephone to take photos and the only telephone app I use is a GPS. However, I think I will try taking photos with this contraption to build a new contact list. The map section is also very nice. If Kindle works well and is less costly, let the price war begin. The iPAD2 is much less costly than a notepad and easier to carry around than a laptop. However, the iPAD2 will not do everything a notepad or a laptop is capable of performing. I have no personal experienc with Kindle. Good luck and best wishes to all you Kindle users.
