Is this an Encore package? If so, some have reported success. Best to call them.

In December,I called to apply a 5-night cert expiring 7.20.2020 to a reservation beginning 7.28.2020. I didn’t mention dates and they made it happen. After it was confirmed I asked about extending my other two. Agent said no, but implied that exceptions are made. I would think getting an exception to apply to a confirmed registration is easier than a blanket request for a one year extension.

Not a guarantee, but they will usually extend for one year if you call.

My last conversation in renewing the rep noted can continue to roll forward year to year, just need to remember to do it (and document who you spoke with for proof).

My advice whenever doing anything with a Travel Package certificate-reserving/canceling and putting the certificate back for future use/extending etc. Do not hang up with Marriott until you see the changes you expected. Too many times I've hung up just to see something different. Its always been fixed-but a lot of extra work.

Not an encore. A 5 night package with bonvoy points

I happened across this article today. I really have no idea how Marriott travel packages work, but I have seen TUG postings about how they changed rules. Never quite understood it.
In any event, here is the link:
