The Browns don't need a new stadium. Especially where the owners are hoping to locate it- near our airport without the necessary access to it. And how they are looking to fund the build- us!

Hey, they didn’t get to be billionaires by spending their own money! :D

So if these five stadiums go ahead as planned, after they're completed, what will be the oldest stadium in the NFL? The Superdome in NO? Lambeau field in GB?

Not sure why anyone thinks taxpayers should pay 1 cent to the billionaire owners. In Seattle we just got a private developer to pay $1 billion of their own money to upgrade a city owned arena to accommodate our new hockey team. Plus the city still owns and gets to keep the arena even if the team moves. Great deal for taxpayers.

I know this can be a contentious issue and it seems to be argued every time a team (or its owner) threatens to move the team to another city. By one stretch, I get what you and many others say that taxpayers should not fund privately-owned teams or the stadiums. But OTOH, it is often argued that keeping a major league team in the city brings financial benefits such as jobs in nearby establishments. It also fosters a sense of civic pride.

I'm not saying I support one side or the other. These are just arguments for both sides.

Cities need to play hardball. They can force the team owners to pay for the stadiums.
