In May of last year we purchased one of those 5 night “explorer?” packages after a timeshare presentation. It was scheduled to expire in May 2021, but you can’t reserve anything yet for 2021. I asked and they did a complimentary 6 month extension, so hopefully we can use sometime in 2021 before November, if dates are ever opened on vistana’s nanea inventory.

Just a heads up, but ours was only 5 days (i.e. 4 nights). I realized shortly after our purchase, but double check so you aren't disappointed later.

Hopefully they give you more than 6 months.

Thanks for this...we were supposed to use ours in April, was supposed to expire in October. Have to call and see if they can extend. (You'd think they'd pro-actively reach out to you!)

friends were supposed to use theirs in Aug, which was right at the end of their expiry period.

phone Rep said can extend 6mos, but they eventually got a supervisor who said 12mos.

I love TUG. GREAT INFO. Our stay is 6 day / 5 nights, but we’ll probably take advantage to extend for 2 days. Also 6 month extension is enough for us since we plan to use next year, but good to know potentially 12 month extension is possible. Thanks everyone.

Thanks for this. We have a four night one that is going to expire in March 2021, we may try to request an extension.

We were booked for a 4 night “Encore” package at The Westin Riverfront in Avon, CO for a June 25 check in.

Vistana canceled it. Our package is supposed to expire in August 2020. Haven’t called yet.

Curious. What is the cost of a 5-Night encore at Nanea and what size unit?

Just another data point...I emailed the encore customer service email today asking for an extension (was supposed to expire in Oct 2020), and they are extending it a full year to Oct 2021. Glad they made it easy, but would have also been nice if they were doing that proactively.

Our 5 night package (May 2019) purchase was about ~ $1,795(Not certain), for 5 nights in 1 bedroom at Nanea and 100,000 bonvoy points after attending presentation. Upgrade to a 2 bedroom option, upon Reservation, was $100 per night so $500 if elected. Adding additional nights, up to 2 nights, market rate to slightly less than market, so it varies at time of reservation, was recently $495/night.

vistana during this pandemic isn’t opening dates for 2021. It should be interesting with all the 2020 cancellations needing to be used in 2021, how much availability there will be. I know different inventories, but what will vistana do with their inventory?
