Has anyone received this call from Wyndham offering a 3 night 4 day trip for $229? Where you get $150 back in an AMEX card and $100 toward a night at a Wyndham in return for attending the 120 minute "Owner's Workshop"? (verbally stated there will be no sales talk at this event (HA!)). I was also informed they offer this program twice a year to 2-3 % of their owners. Anyone done this? Combined the 3 nights with points to make a week's vacation? It doesn't sound much different than "Wyndham Trips" which I googled. Seems you don't have to be an owner to get a similar deal so not sure it is very 'special' ... thanks for posting any experiences good or otherwise

You know how the parking pass people always try to get you to attend an 'owner's update'? and they swear it won't be a sales presentation? Well, if Wyndham is offering you anything in exchange for attending a 'workshop', it means they will be working to sell you something. You have to decide if attending is worth what it costs. Only you know how good you are at resisting. Remember that if you give in there's a limited time to rescind.

That old Lionel Richie song, "Once, twice, three times a sucka!" If you have the time, they have a sales pitch prepared "special for you!"

I have received that call. Called my wife while I was not home. Sales guy would not take no for answer. She called me on my cell and put us both on speaker so I could get him to hang up. Not a pleasant experience.

When a sales call gets through to me, they always take no for an answer. That's because I don't answer any questions, I simply say "I'm sorry but I'm not interested. Goodbye." Then I hang up. They don't get another chance.

Tell your wife to just hang up next time. There is no need to honor them with your time.

I fell for it several years ago - the caller made it sound like we would stay in the Branson Meadows or Mountain View. We stayed in Travelodge! I haven't accepted a Wyndham "offer" since.

Thanks Pat - that is pretty much what I garnered from reading reviews of Wyndham Trips. I will say this, although (as you can guess) the offer was only good if I bit at the time of the call, I asked if I could spend a day thinking about it, and they actually allowed that and called me back (said he might lose his job if 'they' found out :) ). They were very disappointed that I declined their wonderful offer .... He seriously did tell me that Wyndham has learned from their customers that they don't like high pressured sales presentations, and no longer work that way, which I found ironic based on the call and tactics used - one way he was presenting the offer as a great deal was to make using points sound expensive in comparison - pretty funny
