I've already transferred the most I can to Hawaii airlines. So cannot transfer any to United. Didn't know it was 'all airlines' limit.

So what do I now do. Not going to use them by end of month.
Transfer to Bonvoy points or Interval ?
Always been wary of Interval since hundreds of $$ still need to be paid to book a place so not as good a deal as first appears.
Car rental certificates seem less value too. Thoughts folks?

Bonvoy, if you don't get on with II. Both are relatively expensive uses of ownership but you are beyond that being the primary issue.
All the best

We resolved a similar situation by making a points reservation at Grande Chateau as it is very easy to get in there. You may also qualify for a 30% discount for a within 60 days points reservation. We just put the word out to the extended family and a cousin was delighted with the free availability. Some owners may have ideas for great easy access resorts at this time of year.

Are these trust or enrolled points? You can only do Bonvoy on trust points but I also think that deadline has passed. Doesn't that have to be done 9 months prior to the end of your use year?

Have you looked at this chart to see other options?

Unless your use year is something other than 1/1-12/31, you are too late to exchange owned Trust Points for BonVoy points. If they are not holding points, your best bet may be to deposit to II. You'll get 2 years to use them at non-MVC branded locations. You'll have to pay an exchange fee because you cannot use them at any MVC, Westin VC or Sheraton VC.

The deadline to exchange owned Trust Points into BonVoy points varies by owner level. For Chairman, it is 2 months prior to expiration. 4 months prior to expiration for executive and presidential. 6 months prior to expiration for select and owner. The deadlines were changed when Abound rolled out since the Vistana dates were much less restrictive than the prior MVC deadline of 9 months.

If you can or plan to get to NYC: through a recent stay I learned the the Pulse at NYC issues resort credits with expiration dates at least 1 month beyond the stay and can be used in some nice Manhattan restaurants.

Are the resort credits posted to your MVC account rather than the room?

I thought (maybe incorrectly) that resort credits posted to your room and needed used during your stay..

Resort credits are resort specific and are activated by the concierge upon arrival at the resort. They post to the folio, not to your timeshare account. Any not used during the stay are forfeited. Check the T&C for what they can be used for; some locations it is basically everything. Others, it is restricted.

I used the term "resort credits", but what NYC Pulse issued were basically paper vouchers with owner's name on it and a bar code, in denominations of $5, $10, $50, $100. They carried varying expiration dates from 30 days to 6 months (!?). I couldn't figure out why some had as long as 6 months of expiration, but we spent them up during our stay. These vouchers are the same given to us after we sat through the sales pitch in the MVC sales office. They said they planned to convert the a Manhattan Westin into a Pulse; I'm not sure we need another hotel in the MVC system.

That sounds like a lie; MVC does not own any of the Manhattan Westins – they are all owned by investment groups – and I think it's very uniikely that MVC would be buying one of them, especially since hotel room rates in NYC are at what is probably an all-time high. (One of the last Westin-flagged hotels to sell, the Westin Grand Central, sold for over $300 million, six years ago. It would be worth even more today.)

Many MVC Sales folks still don't seem to really grasp that Marriott Hotels and MVW are separate companies, and that Marriott (Hotels) doesn't own but a small fraction of the hotels which operate under their brands. Or perhaps they get it but their prospects don't, so they continue to make up stories which sound good but don't pass the sniff test.

There are some unique resort credits at other locations.
The Hilton head resorts offered gift cards to Serg restaurant group restaurant and Tanger outlet mall.
When we got them we were told we had to be staying at an HHI MVC to redeem them but they had longer expiration dates- I think the outlets were for 5 years and could be used for other locations too not just HHI. Restaurants had a longer than stay expiration too. This was few years ago so you would need to check that this still exists. I got the details through the MVC site chat.

I was curious if anything had changed since a few years ago when I was in this situation so I did a chat on MVC and this is what they said-

You may select one or more of the following options, which can be purchased using Points up to the day before they expire. Only two of the below options can be used with Club Points in a Holding Account.
-Golf certificates ( excludes Club Points in a Holding Account )
-Marriott Golf Academy Certificates ( excludes Club Points in a Holding Account )
-Car rentals ( excludes Club Points in a Holding Account )
-Travelex Travel Insurance
-Resort Credit (only if the check-in date is before the expiration date of the Points)
-Airline miles ( excludes Club Points in a Holding Account )
-External Exchange Credit ( excludes Club Points in a Holding Account )
To learn more, please follow these steps: 1- Click the Destinations tab at the top of the page. 2- Click on Cruises, Hotels, and More from the drop-down menu.

i asked if they still offered the Serg restaurant group and tanger outlet mall gift cards when staying on Hilton Head and about any special gift cards at NYC-
Thank you for your patience. We offer the SERG dining certificates that can be purchased if you have a stay taking place prior to the expiration date of the Club Points. We do not offer the Tanger Outlet certificates any longer
Yes. The SERG dining certificates are valid for five years from issuance. The Marriott Vacation Club, New York City offers Experience Dollars. Experience Dollars may be used at designated merchants. For assistance and merchant information, you will need to contact the concierge team on site as we do not have that information.
