Once you’ve heard a couple of callers on Ramsey’s show, you’ve pretty much heard the entire show for the next ten years. It’s the same thing over and over.

And the Exit Team is horrible. Up front money. They do nothing but send letters. The “legally get you out of your timeshare” is just a total lie. Unless by legal, it gets dragged out until foreclosure and they can say they got you out.

I agree. But it’s Inside Edition which pretty much defines Yellow Journalism.

My thought exactly. All the cameras and witnesses. There would easily be an assault and battery charge against the guy.

Timeshare owners are targets for all kinds of scams. I wish more people could find TUG. We saw that one person was told $100K to get out of a timeshare by Timeshare Exit Team.

Imagine my horror to see TBN advertisements for yet another Timeshare Exit company. How could they choose to advertise one of these companies after all of the complaints TET had after advertising on TBN. Drives me crazy.

I know that I am having to block these exit companies from running ads on my YouTube channel. I don't usually learn a new one has started advertising until I actually see the ad. They were pretty relentless at the beginning of the year when MFs were due.

I was personally fascinated at the part of the video where the TET CEO claimed that once ramsey started promoting them, their business exploded by an order of magnitude.

shame he chose profit given how his apparent poor advice reached so many.

He certainly does think anyone buying a timeshare is an idiot. The tone of his interactions with many callers has changed recently to a more condescending tone. I have watched a few videos from someone who is a former financial coach in Ramsey's program and he has recognized a change in how he interacts with callers. Even calls unrelated to timeshare, his approach is more talking down to the call and overall condescending. He has always had a matter of fact approach, but I think that can be done in a way to not berate the caller. It seems Suze Orman had it right and hung it up when the time was right. Ramsey keeps plugging away, for better or worse.

Little does Ramsey know about timeshares and that some of us not only enjoy great vacations, but we rent some timeshares to pay the dues on the ones we use. Ours is not a huge business, but we do well enough to not feel like we are stupid. When Covid hit, I was wondering why I bought all of my weeks, but this year I won't have any deposits to II because everything has rented. But our daughter is just good at what she does.

I am in a Dave Ramsey group on FB (mainly for entertainment purposes), and even in that group, they mimic Dave's condescending tone and disallow any teachings or advice that isn't 100% Dave-approved. They destroy people for stuff like timeshares. It's really sad. Most people have no idea how awesome timesharing can actually be.

Yes, I have seen that same attitude in DR Facebook groups. It's almost cult-like, in that any idea that is slightly different than what DR preaches is immediately dismissed. Personally, I think the DR system is good for helping those that don't have monetary discipline and have gotten themselves in deep debt. He has some good tools and advice for getting out of that hole, but beyond that (i.e., building wealth), I find his advice very simple-minded and not very good.

you can find borderline zealot groups of just about any major system on FB, I gave up even attempting to participate in some of them that "require only happy happy joy joy" discussions and comments about particular systems.

some folks cant face the truth in many cases, thats for sure.
