2018 points - 10,000 points?!?!

Does this look right to anyone? How did my 2018 point allocation get to 10,000 points?

It's an error. My 2018 points were correct this morning. I just checked now, and they are doubled like yours.

I'm sure it'll be fixed soon.

Playing with the thought that WHAT IF you made a booking using most of your 2018 points. What would happen?

Would hgvc cancel the reservation since you actually used points that wasn't yours or could you claim that you were in good faith since the points was in your account?

I know that us reading/writing in this thread can't claim good faith but others could.

Kind of hard for any owner to claim good faith if you use double your points. Would be like you own a house and the tax people said you also owned a second one, and you didn't realize it was a mistake. I don't think good faith could possibly be claimed by anyone with a straight face. Clearly they would cancel the last reservation(s) made to get you down to using the number of points you actually have.

I think it would be impossible to make a booking right now with 2018 points.

I'm guessing they'll fix the mistake shortly.

That's not possible. You can't pull from 2018 points unless you're booking your home week in 2018 (which you can't do until 1/1/17) OR you're booking a 2017 reservation and don't have any 2017 points so then the system would pull from 2018. But that means you'd be booking a club season reservation which is only 9 months out. So you can't book an open season 2017 reservation until at least April 1, 2016. So as long as they fix the mistake it's impossible to pull from the "extra" 2018 points until April.

Since you can't dictate what points the system uses (unless you have bonus points) and the system uses it's predetermined hiarchy, you can't get to your 2018 points until 1/1/17 for booking your 2018 home week or until 4/1/16 for booking an open season stay in 2017 and having no 2017 points available.

They'll fix it. They always do.

Exactly. I'm not even sure why they show them since you can't use them yet.

It's not entirely impossible you could do a RCI booking.
