I hope it will be ocean view for you. Your chances are over 50% because they have one more condo on the ocean side. Good luck! I hope it works that way because I really do not know how Hyatt works.

We received our yearly points yesterday while here at the Sedona Hyatt, and much to our surprise woke up this morning to find out our long-standing request for Maui came through for September.... a full week in a 1 bedroom!
Congrats, I love Maui...

How easy is it to trade into Maui for a 2BR unit? Anybody have success obtaining a summer week?

I am considering purchasing a Diamond week (hopefully will pass ROFR) but it is less attractive to me if I can't trade into Maui. I'm sure Aspen ski season is equally difficult now that they jettisoned HVC management.

This thread is from 2017 and is about Hyatt, not Diamond/Hilton.

It is a Hyatt question; a "Diamond" week at Hyatt is one where a 2bd unit is worth 2200 points -- such as Maui.

That said, a Hyatt-to-Hyatt trade into Maui is reputed to be very difficult.

Hilton has acquired Diamond Resorts and folded it into their program.
This is from 2017.
Do you see where the confusion lies?

We typically get early June as school is out for summer vacation early in AZ states. Also April and Sept are easier. July and Aug are challenging. It is getting increasingly difficult.

It's not easy to trade but it's not impossible. Much easier if you are VERY flexible. For example, we can go any time of year with a couple months (or less in a pinch) notice. We recently got a November 2BR week in Maui using LCUP points.

This is a Hyatt thread about a trade from Sedona into Maui. Hyatt has a Maui property. All the weeks are "Diamond" weeks under Hyatt's classification system. So I have no idea what you are complaining about. No mention of Hilton or any of their properties on Maui, and this is not a Hilton forum.

Yes I like to resuscitate old threads rather than starting new ones.

I traded my Diamond week at Carmel (1 bed/1 bath, week #30) to Spring Break week in 2025. Put in the request 6.5 months prior to April 12-19, 2025 and got it. Not a summer week, but I would say it's doable as long as you plan ahead.

And today I got another Maui reservation for the last week of April using CUP points.

Are you both getting 2br trades for 1 week?
Sorry I don't exactly understand the question. The 2BR weeks at HKB are internal trades that cost 2200 HRC points. The 1 BR weeks at HKB are internal trades that cost 1,450 HRC points. About 1/2 of the 1BR units are "mountain view" not ocean view. The mountain view is pleasant, but the ocean view is spectacular.

Yes 2 bedroom. We only reserve 1 bedrooms with Hyatt hotel points when ocean view is specified. Often internal exchanges get mountain side and we have experienced the 1st floor unit over valet.
