I am interested in selling a LWRV timeshare points week and wonder if anyone out there has had success with a similar venture. Any guidance or comments would be appreciated.

Specifics about what you own and what you are trying to sell will be edited out, but to start, I would ask if your TS is paid off and if you have any ball park idea of what it is worth. Just trying to see how realistic your expectations are.

Based on what I have seen on redweek.com, I haven't seen many sales (maybe one.) check it out. Most sellers are asking way too much IMHO. The market for Welk points doesn't seem to be there. If you just want to get rid of the maintenance fees you could call them and see if they will take the points back from you. Not sure if they will but it may be worth asking. If you try to sell, ask a reasonably low amount.

Let us know what you find out and what you decide to do.

Prepare for lots of replies from entities promising to sell your timeshare, or relieve you of those pesky maintenance fees, and promising $XX.XXX if you'll only give them (several thousands)$ upfront. These are ALL scams. Reputable sellers take their commissions from sales proceeds (except reasonable marketing costs).

Check what similar weeks as yours actually sell for on eBay (it won't be much) if you don't have pricing info. Then for the price of TUG membership ($15/yr) you can list it in the TUG Marketplace in the red stripe above here, or offer it free in the Bargain Deals sub-forum in the Buying, Selling Renting Forum.

Hundreds of people relieve themselves of their unwanted timeshares here.

Good Luck!

Hi, If your TS is the Welk in Escondido, I'd try to sell it on craigslist in San Diego. I have many friends that have purchased at the Welk for day use. Good luck.

A broker who specializes in resale Welk ownerships is www.calresorts.com. We bought our Welk TS from them, and the deal was both smooth and LEGITIMATE. The owner, Brent Jex, is very experienced in avoiding the dreaded ROFL (Right of First Refusal) which Welk has been known to exercise.

Because calresorts.com specializes in Welk resales, they move their listings very quickly.

Best of luck!
