Looking into buying a resale unit and they are offering 2012 usuage.

2012 maintenance fees are paid.

I was wondering when title changes, does that include the 2012 week through Starwood? I can make the 2012 week reservation directly through the resort or deposit into II. Or would i need to rely on the seller to make the reservation for me?

You can't do anything with the 2012 usage until the deed is registered in your name with Starwood. However, there is no rush - it will be waiting for you after the title is transferred. Just make sure that the contract stipulates that you get the 2012 usage.

Starwood has a central reservations system for owners and after the deed is in your name, you can call Owner Reservations and either make a Resv. for your own use, or deposit it in II.

Note that with Starwood you cannot make a reservation and deposit that specific reservation. With Starwood you don't deposit a specific week. Instead, all weeks have preassigned trading power based on the resort/season/unit and that is what you use to trade with.

See the Starwood and II FAQ at the top of the forum for all the details.
