I went to the web site and saw what I thought was a new promo - BOGO - Getaway 2-For-1 Offer.

Select Extra VacationsSM Getaways!
Book NOW through 5/31/2012
Offer available by phone only

1-800-338-7777 RCI® Weeks
1-877-968-7476 RCI Points®

I find it odd that this info is not available online but one must call to find out the weeks involved. After all these nice website updates, basic info on the promo weeks is not available online, and one must call to find out - amazing!

I did find out that the week you purchase is for travel within the next 18 months, and the free week is for the period of 9/7- 11/11, a time of the year that I can't travel.

Other "fine print" that was online about it:

*Cancellation policy for this promotion: In the event the member cancels the paid getaway, the member is subject to a cancellation fee of $350 USD/$345 CAD or the price paid for the paid getaway (whichever is less). RCI has the right to deduct the applicable amount due from payments already made by the member for the paid getaway. Travel dates for full price Extra Vacations getaway week are now through 10/17/2013. Travel dates for free Extra Vacations getaway week are 9/7/2012 through 11/11/2012.

I never understood why you can't at least see which places, resorts, etc are available with this offer. I've never called, though I've thought about it. It seems like it would be a guessing game about where you want to go and what they have to offer. :ponder:

I booked this. Then felt bad because the poor agents had to spend "tons" of time trying to help me find the "free" week. It would have been so easier if I was able to access the "Available free units" and narrow it down on my own. Very time consuming!:(

Is it Williamsburg, Orlando, Las Vegas, Massanutten TS that are in the $300-$500 range for Sept-early Dec?

I have received a similar offer for points make at least a 7 day exchange and get 75% off an extra vacation Sept7=Dec 11 when calling. I have an exchange I was going to make anyway but was wondering if I should bother calling for promotional extra vacation. We could probably go to Virginia for a long weekend for Rosh Hashhanah in September.

I called, too, to find out what was available to choose from for the free week, but they said you had to know what you wanted to book for the paid week first, before they could actually tell you (or search for) the free week. I had an idea, but not the dates, so I didn't pursue it further. I still have a few days, maybe I'll try again. I am wanting a free week in Vegas towards the end of the free week window, but I am betting all that they'll offer for the free week will be 1 bedrooms at the Grandview..

Anyone heard when they will offer this again?

Just wondering if anyone has an inside source to know when this will be offered again for travel though Oct/ November 2013?
