Thank you for the great pictures. The exterior shots are gorgeous. I am a new (resale) owner at DSV I- any idea if the interior color scheme is the same there?

Sorry, can't help you on that one. This is our first trip here and we haven't seen inside a DSV I unit.

Doug,

Thank you for these beautiful photos! You have such a keen eye for taking a picture, the pics of the palm trees with the mountains in the background took my breath away!

We are very fond of this property and have stayed there many times. We own at Shadow Ridge, but DSV II is just a beautiful property and I have always enjoyed the large size of the units. Besides the nice units the property itself is really beautiful and some of your photos show. I think you took every angle imagineable for the unit and looking at your photo albums is so helpful if I am considering a property I have never been to before. I have looked at several of your albums before and really enjoy them. I appreciate all your efforts and willingness to share with all of us and I hope you keep doing this for years to come. Keep up the great work!

Regards,
Janna

As a response to mommabear, when I saw the DSV I units last summer, the color scheme is more muted but very nice.

If only we could travel a little more. ;) So many timeshares to see, so many we enjoy returning to, so little paid vacation time.

Your photos are beautiful and you really show the condo from every angle plus the area outside of the resort. It is a big help to all of us and to the Marriott too indirectly with your very nice albums of so many of their resorts. I hope that that you will see them all but I have a feeling that you will be back here again. :)

I still need to add a few photo's of some of the other pools and amenities but, I have pics up of a two bedroom lock-out unit and some of the rest of the resort.

The album is at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/Trave...as-II/21969326_7JjRmx#!i=1760843294&k=7hRdXm7

I'll probably be adding a few more photo's over the rest of this week through the weekend.

Hi Doug - just came across this thread and your beautiful photos. I always think I'll post photos of the units we stay in so others can see them but never get around to it. Do you recall which building/unit you stayed in? Did you like the location? My only previous trip to DSVII we stayed in a ground level unit in building 746 and t was great sitting out overlooking the golf course and watching the hummingbirds.

All I recall about our location is that we were away from the main complex. We. Had to go out, down the street, around a corner and back in through another gate to get to our building. Initially we thought this to be inconvenient but quickly Came to love the location and slight remoteness.

Thank you Doug for the great pictures!
There are several resort you've visited that are on my "wish list" - it's great to check them out through your photo stream.

Sounds like Jasmine Court. We have actually never been to that section, but people seem to either love it or dislike the somewhat more remote location. It is all beautiful though, and your gorgeous photos make me want to go back! Thanks!

Snagged a one-bedroom at II for 1.31.2014 with my Barony Bronze. We have always stayed at I so thanks for the inside pictures. We'll be at I for a week over Thanksgiving. Our son lives in LA so this will be an opportunity for us to see him for a few days and get out of the Wisconsin weather.

Great Photo's! Thanks.

I played a couple rounds of golf at Desert Springs this past week. For those going, the courses are in great shape. New sand in the bunkers, new tee boxes and new greens. The only thing is with the greens being new, Palm course 2 years ago and Valley course last year, they are still a bit hard, and fast. Especially the Valley - so good shots can easily roll off. A few times it was like watching the Masters as shots hit mid green, rolled up the slope of the green then back down, gaining speed - off the green and into the water or trap. Made for some funny, if frustrating, moments.

New restuarant called Fisherman's Landing - opened by the golf shop as well. Great spot for an after round snack and cocktails. Really good, baja fish taco's and the lobster taco's are to die for.

Its hard to beat the Coachella Valley if you like golf and beautiful views of the surrounding snow capped mountains.

Yes, it was Jasmine Court. Initially we weren't thrilled but, we were close to the pool, there was a small marketplace and nice fitness center within close proximity of our unit. In the end we enjoyed the location and would take a unit in that building again

Hi - did you get an owners discount for golf?

We paid $89.00 a round supposably a bit of a discount for owners. We were happy since we wanted tee times around 9:30am, and you usually pay a bit extra for prime tee times. I didn't double check and work it too hard, since I wanted to play there and wanted the tee times on Sunday and Tuesday. Sunday tee times were booked up everywhere, so snowbird season is in full swing.

If you are willing to play after 1pm there are twilight rates everywhere. And also bargains before 7:30 or 8 am. Ezlinks.com and golfnow.com are two good sites for last minute tee times, best deals are within 48 hours of the tee time, but you can book a week out.

Desert Springs used to have a hummingbird package for $249 for 3 rounds, but I haven't seen that package for a few years. There are many great courses in the area,so lots of choices, but the Palms course at Desert Springs remains a favorite.

I think thats a great price. We paid more for that when we played it in April 2008..

Btw, my husband also received the owners discounted price of $89 for a 9:00 tee time and golfed with hotel guests who paid much more ($149 I believe). The afternoon tee times were $89 for everyone.
