Sorry to hit this one again. I have been looking for a small number of points to purchase and have been unsuccessful for several months now. I posted to GregT's board as well as the TUg board.

I am just curious if there is a predictable time element here....Have people all disposed of their "clean" 2012 current year points by now? I see 2014 points starting to be advertised, so maybe it is just too late...Is there a program deadline that drives the disappearance of current year points by this time?

At this point, I am assuming that I could also wait until closer in and try to rebook with lower points to the view I want to upgrade to using Puck's trick --- Which I understand conceptually, but will need to study the details on. I am not unhappy with the rooms I have booked, but one has a better view than the other and I would like for both to be Oceanfront.

I'm not sure how small a transfer that you are looking for, but some owners of points to rent may feel a transaction for less than "x" amount of points (or dollars) may not be worth the hassle of doing it.

Just a thought......

I don't think its too late at all. Just advertise what you are looking for and what your willing to pay instead of looking to see if someone is offering what you are looking for.

yes, its true, a few people have not wanted to do a small transaction, but I have been successful doing it before and just trying again has proved challenging...there seem to be lots of penalty/cancelled/bonus points avail at this time, but no clean points.

If you are looking for a small point transfer, you may have to be willing to pay a premium. With quantity you can get a good price per point, but small transactions aren't always worth the effort for the renter. So to make it worth the effort, you may have to pay a higher price per point than those big 1000+ transfers.
