Is it possible to exchange my 2010 week for use in 2009? I want to use both my 2009 and 2010 weeks together this summer, is that possible? I use II to trade my Marriott week. Also, if this is possible, do I have to have my 2010 maintenance fees paid for before such a trade.
I feel like this is such a stupid question since I've had my timeshare week for about 7 years

If you're talking about using your 2010 week to exchange through Interval for a 2009 week, the answer is maybe. You can use a week to exchange for a year before check in of the week you deposited to two years after.

So let's say that your week that you want to deposit has a check-in date of July 4th, 2010. You could deposit it and would be able to make exchanges for the period of July, 2009 to July, 2012.

So part of the answer will depend on what the check in date is for the week you are depositing and what your anticipate travel dates are.

Hope that helps.

OK, but if it's a Marriott, she can only reserve one year (or 13 months if a multiple week owner) in advance. So, you could call Marriott now to reserve week 1 (and soon 2) at your home resort, assuming your season includes these weeks. Then deposit or request first into II, which gives you 1 year before use to two years after to make your exchange. I would think you'd want to do this sooner, rather than wait a few months, to give you the max opportunity to get the week you want to extend your vacation this summer.

I'm not sure about the maintenance fee part of the question, but Marriott can answer that when you call (or just go online) to make the reservation. But my guess is that you'll have to pay the MF before II will confirm the deposit.

No, you don't have to (and can't) pay your 2010 MF now. The only MF requirement to reserve your 2010 week and request an exchange is that you not be delinquent on any MFs. So if you pay the fees that are due this month timely, you will have no problems making your reservation.

As stated, you can reserve your 2010 week 12 months in advance, assuming you own a single Marriott week. Pick an early week to reserve and deposit so that you can request your summer 2009 week in exchange. However, summer is a popular time at Barony, so trading back in for this summer at this late date won't be easy. Also, your Platinum season doesn’t start until June, so you won’t be able to reserve your 2010 summer week until then, giving yourself almost no time for a successful exchange for this summer.

A better plan, if you can wait, would be to forego your use this summer and try to make your idea work in 2010. Deposit your 2009 week with II now and immediately make your exchange request for the 2010 week you want. That way, you'll be in line for an exchange when many owners reserve and deposit their summer 2010 weeks this coming summer. You'll likely get the exchange you want and you can reserve your own 2010 week this summer, thus getting the two weeks you want - in 2010, not 2009.

Thanks for all the replies. It sounds as if I should be able to do it.
I've already traded my 2009 Barony Beach week for a week at Manor Club for this June. So I hope I'll be able to do the same with my 2010 week.

Oh yeah, my week is a bronze week
