Thinking of buying wyndham and have questions about KBV.

I see on wyndham's website that Pahio KBV is listed as part of the resorts directory but I don't see any points chart anywhere. If you have enough points can you reserve in KBV as a owner of any wyndham UDI? How hard or easy is it to reserve KBV if your not deeded there?

kbv was originally part of a small hawaiian ts group - pahio, then wyndham bought them out. all the units were originally sold as weeks and wyndham wants owners to buy a developer week ($17K) to convert their kbv week to points. points units are in one pool and weeks units are in another - points owners can only reserve units in the points pool. my guess is that very few owners converted to points, so there may not be many units for points owners to reserve.

if you want to buy a kbv week they are cheap on the resale market and there are 2 or 3 on ebay right now.

Denise explained the situation very well.

You won't be able to view points charts on the Wyndham site if not an owner. But,they are available in the stickies in this forum, the first sticky, post #3.

For KBV see page 220.

Without owning there, as a Wyndham owner you can try at the 10 mth mark with other members.

The history of resorts has been that within 3-4 years availability is there to book in the initially hard to reserve places. It then is a matter of having sufficient points to so. The HI resorts are very high pointed and you may wish to explore other means to do so .

Some of the units are points are some are weeks. I have 2 points units at KBV and one weeks. I have traded the points week for one week in Italy on the Italian Riviera, one week near Santa Barbara, CA and one week in Florida so it has good trading value. I also traded the weeks unit for the Cayman Islands.
