We're planning a one week trip to Nashville in April 2018. Since we're coming from California and have not been in the area before, we would like advice on where to spend the 2nd week. We are seniors and will be traveling without children. We like scenic drives and would like to see as much of the area as possible while we are there. Suggestions?

You can drive a few hours east to stay near the Smoky Mountains, lots of timeshares there: Gatinburg, pigeon Forge, Sevierville are the cities (Wyndham has two resorts there).

Were you wanting to drive even further?

For scenic drive, the Natchez Trace Parkway, a historical travel corrider. The town of Natchez on the Mississippi is very nice.
Memphis is another consideration.
