I don't own any of these. Do you?
Any of the ones I have gotten on this list have been *delightfully thoughtful* gifts from my mother in law. ;)

I use a stand alone GPS, and think it is useful.

We usually use that, AND my wife's cell phone.

If you use a phone's GPS, and you get a call or lose reception.................... etc, etc.

I don't use my bread mixer often at ALL, but it does make good bread!

My other half has a hamburger press and always uses it. He also has a bread machine that he won’t get rid of. I can’t remember the last time he used it.

As for me I have a Passport Holder and I like it as it keeps my Passport from getting damaged. I once had an avocado cutter and donated it tI goodwill as using a knife was easier,

I actually OWN a standalone GPS. It lives in a drawer somewhere. The car we travel with has built-in GPS and we both have smartphones.
We own exactly NONE of the others.

I have a bread machine I have not used in a few years but hubby wanted me to keep it for when we moved. He feels once settled into a true retirement life at some point, I will decide maybe in the long winter months to make bread again. he loved the fresh bread.

I think I might have a hamburger patty mold. though I might have tossed it when we moved. I got it at my bridal shpower in the wishing well. Think I used it like twice in 42 years. LOL! kept it in the kitchen junk drawer.

Got rid of the juicer when we remodeled our kitchen. I was into it at one time but hated cleaning it after every use.

Hubby still has an older stand alone GPS as he does not have a smart phone.

I do not have an actual panini press but I do have a George Forman Grille that I use for all kinds of things like grilled cheese and panini sandwiches

I have kitchen scissors but never used them to cut pizza. I have a hand held pizza wheel slicer for that..

I have a leather passport holder, that has room for a few other things, like my Nexus card. And a few years ago in Hawaii I bought a really nice Koa wood pencil holder and a matching Koa post-it note holder. I use them on my desk at work, right below the framed National Geographic map of Hawaii that hangs on my cubicle wall. Every time I vacation in Hawaii I put a post-it note on the map showing the Hawaiian city I'm visiting, so I can rub my jealous coworkers' noses in it. LOL!

Do I "NEED" either of them? Nope. Do I like them? Sure do - every time I see or use them, I appreciate how nice they are.

uh oh, I have a few...

I wouldn't call it Panini Press, but I do have the dual plate grill/griddle thing. Cuisinart, Oster, one of those. I like doing bacon in it because the grease drips into a convenient holding tank and closing the lid keeps the grease off me and everything else. Sometimes I do pancakes on one side, eggs on another with it open flat. Paninis? rarely. I'm a sandwich in a fry pan gal from way back. I would feel stupid doing a grilled cheese in it. I have done quesadillas in it, tho, which is great for avoiding flipping the big round pack of yum. I never mastered that in a fry pan.

GPS, yes, indeed, I will not part with my Garmin (her name is Karma Garmin). I want the device that is specifically geared to get me around. I got the one that shows pedestrian and bike routes. It has more features than phone GPS and easier to see.

Breadmaker, but, haven't dragged it out in a long while and had been thinking of ditching it because it is so big. the last few times I made bread, it got kneaded in my mixer and baked in a pan in the oven. There is something "off" about bread maker bread texture. It was also a massive pain to get a loaf to dislodge and I don't like hassles like that.

I will admit to having a banana slicer. I call it a knife. While it doesn't always give me perfectly even slices, it gets the job done.

I do have what I consider "food scissors" but don't usually use em with pizza. I like the rolling slicer.

I had a standalone GPS, but bought and used before smart phones were a thing. I also have a pair of meat claws, and I love them. Yes, you can use forks, but if you are doing an entire pork shoulder, the claws are a nice little luxury.

I used to have a juicer. Now I use a Blendtec for vegetable and fruit smoothies. I don't have any of the other items. :)

Don't have any of those things on the list now, but we did have a couple in the past.

Bread maker -- was useful but we just got away from making / eating much bread.

Standalone GPS -- of course we used to use them, but now smart phones have completely replaced their functionality. And BTW, if you don't have a cell signal, you can still use your smart phone for navigation. They can all still pick up the GPS signals w/o a cell signal, and most every mapping app includes the option to have off-line maps. Statements about needing a cell signal are simply false. And it still works when you get a call. Where do people get these ideas?

LOL. Perhaps the article's author is simply jealous.

1. I  my Juicers. Yes, plural. My Omega, a masticating style, is the easiest to clean and sees the most frequent use ...but the Norwalk, a cold-press, makes the best juice. My 1st juicer is semi-retired in FL, stored in my Owner's Locker for trips to WDW. I should be using the juicer daily ... but sometimes I enjoy in a store-bought, organic veggie juice. Sure, call me lazy.

2. Garmin GPS. Yep, mounted in the truck. I prefer the Garmin UI when navigating crazy freeway merges/splits. It has a friendly way of showing me which lanes I should use. It also handles breaking a long road trip into "waypoints" which my iPhone's map doesn't do?

3. Passport holder. Yep. Got that, too, and use it on every international trip and for storage between trips. Managing the holder interface creates that "extra little step" that helps me verify that I still have my passport and didn't leave it behind along the way.

4. Bread maker. Oh, don't get me started. I love the bread ... but ... really shouldn't be eating it. :(

The meat claws look interesting ... hmmm?
Post-it Note holders: Yeah ... I have a few. They seem to be popular freebies at various conventions I've attended.

Everyone definitely needs biscuit cutters. For rolled biscuits and scones you are going to get better Rise/more loft if you cut the edges with something sharp. The rim of a drinking glass will fuse the edges of the biscuit together and you won’t have nice tall cylindrical biscuits.

My post it note holder was a favorite item on my desk when I worked. It was designed to hold the post it notes that alternated pulling from side to side. It was an attractive heavy gold stand with a slit in the center that the note slid through. When you pulled off one, another would pop up, ready to go. Looked nice, kept the notes at hand and allowed me to pull off one sheet easily without having to use two hands. One of the best promotional gifts I got in my working career!

And that reminds me that my bread maker is still in the basement cupboard. I used to use it to mix and proof my doughs, then baked in a regular loaf pan. Great whole grain bread that I should make again, although it tempts me to eat too much bread!

Grands frozen biscuits are wonderful -- just pop however many you want in the oven and 23 minutes later they are ready! That being said, I can't break Cliff of the habit of buying a bag of 38. Can't get him to understand that they do need to be used up in a timely manner, and that burden falls to me because he'd cheerfully eat cereal 7 days a week for breakfast. It would never occur to him to plan a weekend breakfast around that damn bag of biscuits! We are down to two biscuits again -- think I'll leave them to get freezer burned so next time he tries to drop a big bag in the grocery cart I can say "we have biscuits in the freezer". Our Vons is much more likely to have no biscuits at all, or the huge bag, than it is to have small bags of twelve.

While I have a few items on that list, I treasure my passport holder. It's bright orange and I can easily spot in in the drawer and when it falls to the bottom of my purse. It's easy to make sure that the passports are still with us.

Frozen biscuits? Perish the thought! I am the cook in my house, but my wife is the baker. She makes these. They are divine.

Ha, me too! It might be practical, but no. Just no.

I don't make biscuits too often because we wind up eating too many. Our thought process is always, "these biscuits are never going to taste better than they do right now" and next thing you know, we've eaten six between the two of us.

Some things freeze perfectly and I'm happy to eat such things. Like say cookies.

Some things are fleeting though and have to be made fresh and eaten right away. Biscuits IMO are such a thing.

I have a biscuit cutter, which you definitely need if you want to make good biscuits, and a bread machine, which I use pretty often, mostly for kneading the dough before I bake it in the oven. Some people have arthritis and need help with kneading, so that would be a completely legitimate reason to have a bread machine.

I have a couple of them and they are probably right in not needing them. The one I really use is the burger form and press. Easy to store and I have my own special spice mix so make my own. With this little plastic tool I can make consistent patties of the same shape size that do not fall apart.
