I thought I was on the home stretch about two weeks ago, when I was told my "ownership transfer" had been placed in the hands of a Supervisor. As of today, they are saying "10 more business days". Ebay auction closed monies sent June 19, deed recorded in Beaufort County for MGO around July 8th, Marriott received all my paper work August 27th they say, and here we are.....STILL.

Several threads ago, one TUGGER said "I think they are putting me back on the bottom of the pile with every call I make", I can now relate to that thread!!!

Anyone having better luck? Needless to say I will not be going to Hilton Head anytime soon, so 2008 useage is hopefully banked in II, in the previous owners account.

It's outrageous that Marriott takes this long to recognize ownership. Why the almost two month delay between the time the deed was recorded and the time Marriott received the paperwork?

This would be my bigger complaint.

Correction, I was able to pull the deed up online early July, the written deed was not sent back to closing company for about 2-3 weeks, and then they turned it around and sent to Marriott.

I understand Marriott has had some staffing issues in Owner Modifications, but it is still frustrating.

It is sort of like your Mom buying you a new pair of shoes and then saying you cannot wear them until Easter!

I don't understand why closing companies don't look up the deeds online and print them out and send them to Marriott. This will cut 2-3 weeks off the process in many counties. The process screams of inefficiency.

Totally agree

I asked this very question, because I printed a copy for myself, way before the original came in the mail. Seems like the online copy could expedite the process, but I guess that would be too easy.:wall:

Does anyone have any recent experience on how long Marriott is taking to recognize owners after they receive the paperwork?

I'm wondering if things are improving for the 8 weeks reported a couple of months ago?
