We (husband and wife)will be traveling to Phoenix Az. 0n the 3rd of May and returning May 13,2006. Would like to rent a hotel room for that time. This the first time I have been on this type of site and I don't know what to do.

Your post was fine for getting started.

If you really want a hotel room, TUG - devoted to timeshares - is probably the wrong place to seek much help, although you can probably get some good advice here as to which hotels to choose from if you indicate what type (modest, luxury, spa, golf, etc.) you are looking for.

However, if you prefer the roomy luxury of your own condo for at least seven days (e.g., 5/13-20) of that time, we can make a number of suggestions for where to look for rentals. Most such rentals are for a week at a time.

So help us with some more detail as to what you seek.

Dear Dave,
Thanks for answering my message. My daughter her husband and their 3 kids came to Pompano Beach and rented a room with a kitchen on the ocean for two weeks for $99.00 a week. we would like to find something comprable in Phoenix. What do you think my chances are?

Summer rates

Effective May 1, our summer hot season begins. So, many hotels lower their rates by half. Suggest you go to Priceline or any of the major searches to check the rates. You will be surprised.

I would say $99 for a week on the ocean in Phoenix is not possible. First off, NO OCEAN (yet, but plenty of sand); secondly, you can't rent a Motel 6 for $99 a week anymore (or even close). If you can find anytrhing at that time of May for $60-$75 dollars A DAY, I would say, grab it. You might find a Days Inn (or similar) for $50 a day. We have several extended stay facilities that rent for about $200 a week, not a timeshare but, not a Motel 6 - I don't mean to malign M6.
