Hi! All things being relatively equal, and other than the 13 months booking period (as opposed to 12 months), is it better to buy the 2 weeks EOY versus the 1 week EY?

Details: 2 bedroom lock-off, Las Vegas. Selling price: $29,900 for either. Converts to 110,000 MR points. Going direct in order to convert to points on occasion.

Thanks much!

Depends on how you plan to use it. For high demand weeks, don't underestimate the 13 month "edge". If traveling with two parties (using both units simultaneously) or utilizing consecutive weeks, it's nice to be able to book those weeks without having to deposit with II first.

do you plan on trading alot also or mostly your weeks? If I was going to mostly trade, I would buy 2 EOYs for the 13 month rule and deposit early. If I was gong to either use the week or redeem it for points, I would buy the EY.

Certain resorts (Newport & Waiohai that I know of) give better views for multiple week owners staying multiple weeks. That's another nice benefit of 2 EOY weeks.

Thanks!

Thanks for your responses! You know, I've been on this site for about a week now and the more I learn, the more I realize how much I have yet to learn! Just the tip of the iceberg, it seems...

I'll either use it or convert to points...although it would be nice to stay at the resort in Maui sometime (I live on Oahu). I considered buying here, but the MFs are so pricey (not to mention the purchase price)...but that's another thread :)

Mahalo!

The two EOY weeks have to be in the same year even or odd to take advantage of the 13 month booking option. If you are buying from Marriott there would be little advantage unless you could use the 50% price promotion.
