I posted a similar question in a different forum, but maybe posting it here would be more productive.

I have a week booked in January at a Mayan Palace through RCI Points. I also have a consecutive week booked at the same resort through Trading Places. I can't imagine that I'd get an answer from either exchange company that would satisfy Mayan.

a) Is there a problem with bumping against the 1-in- 3 (or 4) rule?

2) Is there a contact at Mayan that can give me a definitive answer and name I can show to a reluctant desk clerk if necessary?

Thanks!

Jim

1/3 rule used to be 1/5 rule and even that was waved at different times of the year. This is an RCI rule not a Mayan Resort property rule.
SFX also has Mayan resorts as does DAE as does interval International and there is no rules for 1/3 with those exchange companies.
Does Trading Places specify a 1/3 rule on their information? If not I would not give it another thought.
Have a great time it is a fabulous resort.

SFX has 1-3 rule. I've been told Interval does not. I don't know about DAE. My RCI account via Hilton says 1-3 rule as well.

With RCI, there is no problem with two consecutive weeks; the Mayan rules allow it. I don't know about using different exchange companies, though, but it seems like the same rule should apply.
